Admission checklist:
- Take the COMPASS Assessment Test. Cost is $15 cash, voucher, or money order. Test sites available in Boise and Nampa at the Canyon County Center (2407 Caldwell Blvd).
- Fill out BSU Admissions application, and pay $30 application fee.
- Provide official transcripts for high school, GED and/or any college or university you have attended. If no high school or GED, then a career plan must be filled out with the Truck Driving office or an advisor in the Student Services office.
To Do List - Other items to do before or during the 15 week course
- Dept. of Transportation Physical Exam. Required BEFORE the 10th day of class. Results of your physical must be recorded on a form that meets the DOT requirements. Cost is $40 - $70.
- Driving Record. You are required to provide your Idaho driving record, or one from the state that you have previously resided in for the past three years. Contact Idaho Transportation Dept.at 334-8735, a local insurance company, or the DMV. Idaho charges $4 for this service.
- CDL Manual. Study sections two and three before the first day of class. The manual can be obtained free at any DMV in the state of Idaho.

- 23 week program breakdown:
-6 weeks of paid, on-the-job internship.
-Monday and Tuesday evenings 6:00p.m.-9:00p.m.
-Saturday and Sunday 7:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.
-Six- week paid on-the-job internship. - CDL Instruction Permit - You will need your original Social Security Card to take the test.
